Can You Stop The Aging Process By Exercising?

By Graham Foster

Lack of exercise and activity can lead to aging too fast and stop you from living a healthy and long life. When you do'nt exercise regularly you are more likely to feel tired much of the time and also find it difficult to sleep at night.

If you don't sleep well at night you wake up feeling unrefreshed and exhausted even before you start the day. This get progressively worse until in the late after noon, early evening you are so tired you feel yourself nodding off and may find yourself waking up whilst driving home from work or while watching TV.

Enjoying a good night sleep makes the mind work more effectively and helps you make decisions more easily and effectively. A good nights sleep also helps you feel more energetic and this can also help control your body weight. You can also make your decisions with less stress. Sleeping well at night makes our immune system more effective and this help to keep us healthier.

Aging Experts, Doctors and Health Researchers have all show that a good nights sleep is vitally important to having a healthy body.It has been found that a lack of sleep effects the growth hormones in your body which can lead to muscles becoming weaker and the body becoming fatter.Truth is sleep is pretty much essnetial for healthy living but equally important if not more so is exercise. One great way to get exercise is to take a daily walk.

A daily walk works wonders to build your strength and build and maintain your muscles, it will also help remove the stresses and strains of the day. By feeling more relaxed through walking you'll feel more energetic during the day ready to take on any task with a clear mind. In addition you'll find you sleep better at nights.

If you exercise on a day to day basis and also get a good nights sleep you will assist your body's metabolism. When you don't sleep properly, your body spends the day trying to find extra energy. This means your body releases glucose or insulin in to the blood stream which subsequently slows down your metabolism. This can lead to weight gain as the body is unable to control weight as effectively.

If you are feeling tired or fatigued after a busy day the last thing you want to do is exercise. This can lead to apathy and subsequently more serious health problems which are associated with a inactive life style. By having a good nights sleep you give your body more energy and you'll be more enthusiastic and feel more motivated to exercise.

What you should avoid:

To relax and sleep properly and feel energised you should reduce your intake of caffeine, nicotine, harmful chemicals, such as over-the-counter meds that keep you awake, alcohol and keep the use of prescriptions meds as low as is possible. Many of these chemicals and substances will likely keep you awake.

Make an effort not to drink beverages either hot or cold after 8pm this especially important if they contain caffeine or other chemicals (which most do). Some people find a hot milk or malted drink help them sleep more soundly. I also urge you to stop smoking as this in addition to many know benefits will help you when trying to sleep.

By taking a walk every morning you will encourage your body to be energized and you'll, feel much more prepared for the day ahead. In addition an added benefit will be your joints will be more flexible and you'll become less prone to aches and pains associated with lack of mobility.

In addition, another added benefit walking will help you burn fat and calories a nice added bonus. You'll soon notice a big change in how you feel the rest of the day. When you first start out begin walking at a slow steady pace don't over do things. Each day increase your pace a bit and walk further even by a few extra yards stretch yourself but don't over do it.

If you are new to walking for exercise I recommend that you don't over do things it is all to easy to cause injury or worse if you push to hard at the start. Walking should leave you energized not collapsed on the sidewalk. Remember build up slowly and slowly and you won't go far wrong. A added bonus of all this extra walking is your digestion will work better, you'll enjoy your food more and you'll also sleep soundly at nights. Oh and I nearly forgot it can help your realtionships as well as you'll want a great way to use up some of that new found energy won't you?

If you start a walking program, it is a lot more fun if you have someone to go with you. Talk to that neighbor or a buddy from work, ask you wife and husband to walk with you sometimes. Just think about it you'll get a chance to talk about new things which will bring you closer together which will help relieve stress and get in you both exercise as well.

When you finish your walk don't be tempted to dash straight back in to work or the household chores. Give yourself the chance to wind down before you build up again over doing it can have serious consequences and can lead to as many problems as no exercise at all. Just let your heart rate slow back to normal for a few minutes nothing more than that.

If you find you are suffering with insomnia during the night or your mind simply refuses to switch off after a busy day at work. Instead of getting up and watching the late night TV shows just sit listening to some quiet relaxing music and do a few simple stretching exercises before going back to bed.

Don't neglect your body and it won't let you down many ilnesses and ailments associated with old age can be reduced or even in some cases prevented altogether. Remember look after your body and it will look after you.

7 Reasons Why Vitamin D Is Essential to Your Body

By Keith Woolley

This interesting article highllights just some of the key issues regarding Vitamin D. After careful reading of this article I believe the information could make a big difference in how you think about the exciting research that is currently being published about Vitamin D.

Knowledge can give you a real advantage. To make sure you're fully informed about Vitamin D, keep reading.

Vitamin D is a major player in ensuring the body's health. It is a member of the fat-soluble group of vitamins which means that it can be dissolved and stored by our body's fat deposits. Is the only vitamin that the body can produce with adequate exposure to sunlight. Vitamin D may also be obtained from food. The form of this vitamin that comes from plants is called ergocalciferol (also referred to as Vitamin D2). From animals, it is called cholecalciferol or Vitamin D3. Vitamin D has key benefits to the body. They include:

Calcium absorption - Without Vitamin D it would be very difficult for the body to build strong, healthy bones. In the digestive system, Vitamin D helps the body absorb dietary calcium for food, and it is this mineral that promotes that hardness of bones. With Vitamin D, wherever the calcium we take into our body comes from, it makes sure it is utilized properly. Vitamin D also benefits the teeth and gums.

Disease prevention - Since Vitamin D helps in the absorption of calcium necessary to proper bone growth, it helps prevent the bone-deficiency disease called rickets in children. Vitamin D also helps prevent osteoporosis, a debilitating bone disease characterized by the decrease in bone density.

Vitamin D has been shown by research to be very beneficial to the health of the muscles. A 2003 study, published in the Mayo Clinic Proceedings, reported that patients who suffered from chronic musculoskeletal pain had a marked Vitamin D deficiency.

There is also some exciting reports which show Vitamin D's ability to help prevent diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and possibly Type 1 diabetes. The results shown in the studies, published in 2004, are not conclusive, but researchers believe it holds promise! Vitamin D also helps boost immunity sand may prevent inflammation, which probably explains its role against rheumatoid arthritis.

Vitamin D's benefits against cancer - The latest research promises that Vitamin D may be beneficial against certain cancers, such as prostate, colon and breast cancer. Tests conducted by researchers on the subject over a long period of time showed that the lower the Vitamin D levels are, the more probable the risk of cancer.

The vitamin's most active form is capable of producing important responses in the body. One of these is the regulation of how cells grow. When uncontrolled, both these processes result in various cancers. Again, the evidence is still in the early stages and more studies will have to be conducted.

If you want to supplement more, you will find extra Vitamin D in foods like salmon, sardines and mackerel. It's also found in cod liver oil and fortified foods like milk and cereals.

The day will come when you can use something you read about here to have a beneficial impact. Then you'll be glad you took the time to learn more about Vitamin D.

Juicing can also be a great way to get more fruits and vegetables in your diet so consider getting a juicer and use it regularly.

Get A Colon Cleanse

The colon absorbs nutrients into our body and eliminates waste products and it is very important to keep it healthy. Acne can become worse if your colon health is compromised by being blocked. You can get good colon cleansing systems both on the internet and at most health food stores.

You want to look ideally for colon cleansing products that are all natural as these tend to be the most effective. Performing a colon cleanse once every three to four months can be a good way to keep the colon healthy.

Also you have the option of going to a doctor and getting a colonic where the doctor will clean the colon for you. This may make some people uncomfortable but it can still be a great way to clean the colon.

Do A Juice Fast

Juice fasting can be an effective way to cleanse your internal systems and keep them at their maximum level of health. All it takes is deciding to go one to two days consuming only freshly squeezed juices which can be made from both fruits and vegetables.

Carrot juice can be helpful in reducing your acne since the nutrients in carrot juice are very good for the skin. Perform a juice fast once every month to help keep your system healthy and strong.

Keep in mind that your body is mainly composed of water so it is important to eat foods that contain lots of water. Juicing can be a great way to get the maximum amount of nutrients into your system quickly.

Reduce Stress

Many people believe that stress is a big factor in causing acne and making it worse so it is important to find ways to reduce stress as much as possible from your life. There are many ways to lower stress in your life. Starting an exercise program like aerobics or weight training can help to relieve stress so it is a good idea consider them.

Also consider signing up for a local yoga lesson at a health club. Yoga can also be very effective at relieving stress. It helps you to calm down and relax and not think too much which often tends to cause a lot of stress. Try some of these approaches to help get rid of your acne permanently.

Finding the Best Cellulite Treatment

By Patricia Hammond

Cellulite is often a big worry for people of different ages and sizes. It is quite normal therefore for people from different walks of life to try and find the best cellulite treatment. Since people's bodies and conditions differ however, the best cellulite treatment for one person may not be good for another.

Prevention

It is a general rule in medicine that the best treatment to any condition is preventing it before it even happens. The best cellulite treatment therefore is that which can prevent severe cellulite before it becomes visibly apparent.

Prevention includes maintaining a physically active lifestyle and eating a nutritious and balanced diet. Since cellulite is basically body fat, you can increase its production by eating fatty foods. In some cases, you can burn the fat through exercise. A sedentary life however will almost always encourage fat to increase or stay where they are.

Not eating anything at all or skipping meals does not necessarily translate to losing fats and preventing cellulites. Eat multi grain foods that are rich in carbohydrates to give you energy. You should also have a daily ration of lean meat or fish as a source of tissue building protein. Fruits and vegetables are of course, also a necessary part of your diet as good sources of antioxidant vitamins like A, C and E. These antioxidants can mop up harmful free radicals that may cause cellulite.

It is important to note though that in some genetic or hormonal cases, it is difficult to find a way to prevent cellulite even with the right diet and exercise. Some experts even claim that diet and exercise cannot significantly reduce cellulite at all.

Medical Methods

Liposuction can work as a method for cellulite removal. It does involve sucking out excess fats but many experts now think that liposuction is not the best cellulite treatment. It can worsen the appearance of cellulite especially among older people or people with less elastic skin types.

A better option for removing cellulite other than liposuction procedure is the Mesotherapy. It involves injecting a homeopathic formula to melt the fats and break down the rigid connective tissues. A homeopathic formula however should be prepared only by a practicing expert since these formulas are especially formulated based on your specific needs.

Oral Medication

Another method for cellulite removal and treatment is oral medication. Recent research however has determined that the reduced blood flow due to excess fats may block the chemical components or the antioxidant ingredients in even the most expertly formulated oral treatments.

Topical Treatments

Topical medication is now preferred by numerous individuals who cannot afford medical treatments or cannot maintain sufficient diet and exercise programs. Topical treatments work around the blood flow problem by not relying on blood flow to carry chemical treatment to the different body parts. Topical treatments seep downward from the top most layer of the skin to work on the problem areas below. The problem however with chemically generated topical treatments is that some people may suffer from ingredient allergies.

To naturally treat cellulites, Revitol may also be used since it is a safe and a naturally-occurring treatment. Since Revitol contains natural products, it can be safely used without the fear of side effects like allergies. Revitol's natural ingredients will work to fight free radicals and improve blood flow, thereby reducing the appearance of cellulite.

Knowing the Root Cause of Cellulite

By Patricia Hammond

Among most people, cellulite is one of the major causes of insecurity. Anyone with cellulite would simply wish to cover up even at the beach. More determined individuals however are set on getting rid of cellulite. Understanding the main cause of cellulite is the first key to helping prevent or get rid of cellulite.

Spotting Cellulite

Those clustered, soft and tiny skin bumps and lumps under the skin which are cellulite. Cellulite is often found on the buttocks and thighs. It was believed for some time that cellulite was a disorder among fat women. It has since been established however that cellulite can also be found among thin women and sometimes even among men. Thin people can often find out if they have cellulite by pinching the skin in between the thumb and forefinger. Dimpled pinched skin is a sign that there is cellulite underneath that thin appearance.

Fats and Cellulite

Cellulite is mainly caused by body fats. Underneath the skin are collagen connective tissues that separate the fat into honeycomb compartments. These connective tissues also connect body fats with skin tissues. The fats in the compartments may begin to expand due to weight gain or increased water retention, making the connective tissues expand. When the tissues have expanded beyond their capacity, they will harden and make the skin inflexible. When this happens, the fat will begin to spill over, resulting in a lumpy appearance.

Cellulite Cause Theories

Experts are divided among several theories on the causes of cellulite and on why it develops the way they do. Genes and hormone levels may cause cellulite. There may be no way to avoid cellulite if you are genetically predisposed to develop them.

On the hormonal aspect, cellulite may develop in women because of the swinging levels of hormones during puberty and pregnancy. Increased levels of estrogen may be a cause of cellulite production.

Poor blood circulation may also be seen a possible cause of cellulite. It is generally accepted that healthy blood flow helps in the elimination of body waste including excess body fats. Blood circulation may be impeded by a tremendous lack of body movement compounded by a diet that is high in fats. A general lack of exercise and a poor diet therefore may result in poor blood circulation and poor fat burn up that may lead to cellulite production.

Another cellulite cause theory is the free radical theory. Our body may contain excessive amounts of free radicals which may attack other cells in the body. This may cause damage to the circulatory system and to the skin organ itself. Damage to the circulatory system may mean less efficiency in body waste disposal and less chances of vitamins and minerals being transported to body cells and tissues. Damage to the skin may result in a reduction in collagen and elastin thereby speeding up the visible effects of cellulite.

Cellulite and Treatment

As treatment, some people take oral medications and pills to eliminate or reduce cellulite. Oral treatments however may not be completely effective. The damage to the circulatory system may prevent the effective transport of oral medication. Topical treatments are almost always more effective. Pick a topical treatment that is rich in free radical fighting antioxidants like Revitol to help with proper blood circulation and skin firming.

Selecting the Best Cellulite Cream

By Patricia Hammond

Different skins react differently to various cellulite solutions. A lot of people however are now turning towards cellulite creams as a more affordable alternative to medical procedures. What can possibly be the best cellulite cream?

Products

Understandably, each product will always claim to be better than its competition. Each topical product will therefore claim to be the best cellulite cream. The truth however is that most of these products are cosmetic products. As a general rule, consistency in application is important for the best cellulite cream to show results. Common cosmetic products however simply mask the cellulite problem temporarily no matter how often you apply it on your skin. Once the product wears off, the cellulite will look as dimpled and as unsightly as before.

Common Factor

Almost all products that claim to be the best cellulite cream in the market contains the ingredient aminophylline. This ingredient was originally intended to relax the lungs to treat asthma. The problem with aminophylline however, is that some individuals have shown allergic reactions to the chemical. There are also a variety of other chemical components in common cellulite treatments that may cause allergic reactions.

The Best Results

A lot of people believe that a cellulite cream can only work if it has the ingredient capable of entering the bloodstream and breaking down fats and connective tissues. Theoretically, lab tests have shown that aminophylline can and does affect fat cells. When applied on the skin however, aminophylline may just be superficially absorbed by the skin and may not make it to the cellulite area. Theoretically then, this common cellulite cream ingredient may show better results when injected instead of just applied topically. An effective medical procedure still has to be devised though to effectively make use of this ingredient in injections.

Natural Ingredients

Today, a lot of experts believe that natural is the only way to go. Retinol, an active form of the antioxidant vitamin A for example, is thought to be a promising ingredient. Retinol can help increase the production of collagen and elastin to improve skin thickness and elasticity. It can also therefore improve the quality of rigid connective tissues made of collagen. Rigid connective tissues can contribute to the incidence of cellulite.

Retinol however may not be thoroughly effective when used alone. The best cellulite cream therefore should also use other ingredients that can also contribute to the reduction of cellulite. Other ingredients that have been studied and have shown some incredible potential to help treat cellulite are caffeine, algae extract and green tea extract.

These natural ingredients improve blood flow by breaking down fat cells. With proper blood flow, proper waste and excess fat elimination can therefore proceed. When these ingredients are mixed in a product with retinol and other natural ingredients, you can expect to have reduced cellulite.

Best Cellulite Cream

Cellulite creams containing natural ingredients that can be safely used without the danger of harmful side effects may therefore be considered as the best cellulite solution. Natural products harness the natural healing and rejuvenating properties of nature itself.

Successful Dieting - Why You Can Make it Happen

By John Philips

Many people have experienced failure in their weight loss pursuits so many times in the past that they try the next new diet with the impending knowledge that they will fail in this attempt as well. Far too often dieting is undertaken with the mindset of imminent failure.

Knowing you are doomed to failure before you even began means you are just waiting to prove yourself right. Instead of continuing with this vicious cycle it would be more beneficial to stop and wonder why none of the other diets have worked for you when you know others have found success.

By not examining the causes for your failures you are sure to repeat them and without learning from your mistakes and moving forward with a positive attitude you are already planning to fail. Use every failure as a stepping stone to success and eventually progress will follow and you'll wonder why you ever failed.

You are the only person who can take control of your need to eat. You are the only one who can pay attention and notice when you are eating for emotional fulfilment and when you are eating from necessity. You and you alone can get yourself out of your chair and on your feet.

As with everything in life, there are exceptions, but ultimately only you are responsible for the situation that you find yourself in. By trying diet after diet and continuously failing then the inevitable conclusion is quite likely not the diets that aren't working, but that you are embarking on the journey with a negative attitude or the lack of any realistic goals.

There is only one person accountable for how you live your life and dieting is no different. Persist and you will realise that there is no better feeling in the world than for someone to notice and compliment you on your efforts. Once you start seeing the results yourself it will then encourage you to continue. Success leads to continued success.

Too many men and women give up simply because no one noticed and that is an incredible shame. Give your dieting practices an opportunity to work before you decide they are a failure and you just might surprise yourself with a roaring success.

The truth is far too few people hold themselves accountable to their dieting and weight loss goals. This means that far too many people are giving up without really ever bothering to give it an effort. If you have an issue holding yourself accountable to your dieting plans, perhaps you would do well to diet with a partner. This helps you not only set goals but also to meet and exceed challenges along the way. A partner can also benefit from the partnership as he or she will be challenged and feel the need to perform better than if he or she were dieting alone.

You must hold yourself accountable to your stated dieting and weight loss goals in order to achieve any lasting results. If you have not had dieting success in the past, then perhaps it is time to bring some degree of accountability into the picture and make it happen.

Acne And Diet There Are Other Issues As Well

By Allison Thompson

On average 9 out of 10 people at some stage of their lives will suffer from the skin condition known as acne. Although some believe that acne and diet issues are the main cause for their suffering from this particular skin problem, this is not the case. Below we take a look at what causes acne and the ways in which it can be treated.

Even today we are still not sure what is the main cause for a person to suffer from acne. Doctor's will often look at a number of different factors in order for them to come up with the most appropriate kind of treatment for dealing with this skin condition. Below we will look at just what the factors are that doctors look at closely and which they feel contribute towards a person developing acne.

1. Overactive Oil (Sebaceous) Glands - These are located deep within a person's skin and when hormonal changes are taking place in the body these can often become enlarged. Plus as these hormonal changes take place in a person's body this results in the glands producing more oil than they would normally and which often results in young people, especially teenagers suffering from acne.

2. Skins Pores Become Blocked - One of the main reasons why a person's pores become blocked is that their sebaceous glands are producing too much sebum which is not able to be adequately eliminated from the body. Over time a build up of this oil causes the pores to become blocked which results in a person developing the kinds of spots often associated with acne.

3. Normal Skin Bacterium Activity - Our bodies produce a bacterium called Propionibacterium Acnes that lives on our skin and which helps to protect us from bacterial infections. However there are occasions when this bacterium can actually help to exacerbate a skin condition like acne rather than preventing it. Simply what happens is that this bacterium is unable to cope with the amount of oil a person's serbaceous glands are producing and which results in the pores of the skin becoming inflamed and irritated.

4. Inflamed Skin - One of the most common signs of a person suffering from acne is that their skin becomes inflamed. The three previous factors we have mentioned in this article all will contribute towards a person's skin becoming inflamed. However there may be another reason for this problem as well. Often a person's skin has become inflamed because their immune system is trying to fight off what it sees as a foreign presence.

Above we have shown you what the main contributory factors for developing acne are, and as you can see although the wrong sort of diet can exacerbate the problem it is not the main cause. So along with making changes to your diet but there are also different types of treatments that you may want to consider trying as well.

There are products such as Zenmed Derma Cleanse System, Proactiv Solution and Murad which are very effective at helping to treat the condition over an long period of time. But if you want to try something a little more different and which will help to clear up your acne much more quickly it may be worth your while considering using the "Acne Free In 3 Days" program instead.

Yes the wrong sort of diet can certainly contribute towards a person suffering from acne, but other factors which we have mentioned above need to be taken into consideration also. When it does come to matter of acne and diet, just changing it won't immediately provide you with the kinds of results you expect. To really see an improvement you need to use some other form of treatment as well.

Avoid These Dieting Mistakes And Reach Your Weight Loss Target

By John Philips

While there are many real profound mistakes that go along with dieting there are a few that seem to have far more profound and lasting implications than others. When it comes to dieting there are many mistakes that are made on a near daily basis. It is possible avoid these mistakes in your own weight loss pursuits by learning about them beforehand.

Adopting an all or nothing attitude when embarking on a diet is maybe the single largest mistake that dieters can make. Once they stray from the strict guidelines of their diet, that is nearly impossible to maintain, they become frustration and believe that all is lost from that moment.

There are many ways in which you can reach your objective that do not require starving or punishing yourself in the process. While this all or nothing attitude may work for some in the short term, it's a recipe for failure, leading to frustration and a tendency to abandon the entire dieting process. The goal of losing pounds is the important thing when it comes to dieting.

Despite our human need for structure and routine we tend to enjoy changing our lunch routine on occasion. Rather than limit yourself to the same meal or meal selection day in and day out, select a diet or new nutrition plan that allows you to enjoy a wide variety of foods. Selecting a diet plan where you eat the same thing every day is another great mistake when it comes to dieting.

This leads to another common mistake, which is depriving yourself of everything you enjoy. Enjoying food should not be a penalty of dieting. The problem lies when you enjoy only the wrong sorts of foods. Fruit and vegetables are fine, but the occasional indulgence helps maintain your sanity.

One reason why some dieters are successful is because they do not make one of the biggest mistakes when beginning their diet. Not setting goals. Those who set aggressive goals that are achievable will see the greatest degree of success, but you should also avoid the mistake of having goals that are impossible to achieve. Making those goals public and asking for support is another thing that will help you achieve greater success.

Dealing with failure on the road to dieting success is commonplace, even amongst those who have achieved their goals. Therefore, the final mistake when it comes to dieting is giving up. Everyone has setbacks along the way, but the end result , for those who stick with the plan, is a slimmer and healthier body. You may have had a bad day or even a bad week and your goals may get side tracked. But you can set new goals and focus on your ultimate goal.

Learn to overcome those mistakes and move on from them. Let your failures teach you as much as your successes and you should be well on your way to the healthier person that you know is hiding inside. Whether you want to get rid of 10 pounds or 210 pounds the only way to achieve that goal and make it last is by dedicating yourself to the process of becoming a healthier person. A healthy person has healthy eating habits and doesn't starve him or herself. Nor does a healthy person binge on things that aren't healthy. Learn to enjoy food in moderation and you should be well on your to the success you seek.

Five Myths About How to Eliminate Stretch Marks

By Maia Pells

It's easy to get lost in the sea of stretch mark elimination methods. Before you pick a method however, it is well worth your time to first check what works and what doesn't.

Myth #1: To eliminate stretch marks you can try the countless surgical procedures.

Currently, only abdominoplasty is the only known surgical method that works on stretch marks. This method however will only eliminate stretch marks in the tummy area and is very risky and expensive. It is not even originally intended for stretch mark removal but for extra fat removal. Only those who are close to their ideal body weights and have only a little fat to remove are considered good candidates for abdominoplasty.

Other medical procedures include dermabrasion and laser treatment. As most people would know however, dermabrasion is simply a more complicated form of exfoliation which is only a marginally effective method to eliminate stretch marks. Laser treatment on the other hand is a new method that does not have a long and proven track record in removing stretch marks.

Myth #2: Getting a tan can eliminate stretch marks.

Many people think that they can eliminate stretch marks by covering it up with a good tan. This however, will only serve to worsen the whitish appearance of stretch marks as the surrounding healthy skin darkens in color. This is because stretch marks are scars and if you've ever tried to tan a scar, you would know that they are particularly resistant to color changes. Most of us also know that tanning is not always very safe.

Myth #3: Make-up can cover up stretch marks.

Make ups are not stretch mark solutions. These products do not eliminate stretch marks but just mask them. This may be a good technique but only for a limited time. Even the most water resistant make-up will eventually lose its grip at the beach or in the water.

Myth #4: Weight loss can eliminate stretch marks.

Just because stretch marks are basically caused by body expansion it doesn't mean that you can eliminate stretch marks by losing weight. As scars, they will stay put even if you manage to agreed thin. You may however, be able to reduce your chances of getting stretch marks if you have never been overweight to begin with. A healthy diet and exercise can keep you from rapidly expanding in body size.

Myth #5: Stretch mark product is the answer to eliminate stretch marks.

Generally, people have lost hope on finding an effective solution for stretch marks because the market is obviously saturated with products that just don't work. These products put a bad name on reputable brands.

To arrive at the right stretch mark solution, be discriminating with stretch mark product specifications, contents and ingredients. If you have very sensitive skin, you would do better with an all natural product that will not expose you to dangerous side effects.

Toning Your Body with Liposuction

By Victoria Rowde

Liposuction procedure has been around long enough for most people to say that it's generally safe and tested. It doesn't mean though that it's a procedure for everybody. If you're thinking of getting a lipo, you better get yourself informed first.

What is Liposuction?

Designed to remove localized fat, liposuction is considered an invasive surgical procedure. Areas that may be subjected to lipo include hips, face, neck, abdomen, thighs, calves, arms, buttocks and back. Although it is primarily a surgical procedure, it is also considered a cosmetic procedure since the objective of liposuction is to make a person look better. It is not however a procedure recommended for weight loss and is used simply to shape the body. Since liposuction involves localized areas, it may sometimes be used for the removal of cellulite. New techniques under this surgical procedure now include tumescent method, super wet technique and ultrasound assisted lipoplasty.

Candidates

The procedure is not for everyone. The surgeon will usually conduct an assessment first to determine the fitness of a lipo candidate. A candidate should have localized fat but may have more than one area with localized fat. He should also be of normal or close to the normal or ideal weight for his age and height and is physically and psychologically healthy and stable.

Another factor which must be considered is the age. Younger people are deemed better candidates since most young people have elastic skins. Older people and people with inelastic skins are not good candidates for liposuction. Those who have diabetes, poor blood circulation, heart ailments and other serious medical conditions may also be excluded from the list of qualified candidates.

Liposuction Procedure

The procedure is done by making a small incision wherein a cannula or a hollow tube is inserted. The tube is then moved around to break fat and suction it out. A vacuum pump is used for suctioning. Fluids may be removed along with the fats too so a patient should be provided with fluid replacements during liposuction. Local anesthesia may be used if only a very small amount of fat is to be removed. General anesthesia may be recommended though for more serious cases. Individuals may be sedated during the procedure to maintain calmness and relaxation.

After the Surgery

Immediately after the surgery, you may experience some swelling, numbness, pain, bruising and perhaps even a little bleeding and fluid release. Depending on your capacity to recuperate, you may be able to get back to light work after a few days. Complete recovery however may take at least two weeks to one month. In some people, swelling may still be apparent even after a few months.

Excessive expectations from the patient regarding the procedure may cause him or her to be disappointed. This is because at times, even months after lipo, some areas may still have fat deposits. In some cases, additional sessions are needed. The scar may not be so obvious but some people may not develop perfectly smooth surfaces.

When done by the right doctor on the right candidate, though, a liposuction procedure may just work. Make sure that you are under the care of a qualified and competent surgeon.

Truth About Laser Treatment for Stretch Marks and Abdominoplasty

By Maia Pells

Today, two of the most sought-after methods of eliminating stretch marks are laser treatment and abdominoplasty. If you're trying to choose between the two procedures, you should first compare them with each other for you to come up with a more informed decision.

What They Are For

Laser treatment for stretch marks is a relatively new area in cosmetic surgery. Some critics feel that there is a need to study laser treatment for stretch marks further before it can be considered a valid procedure for stretch mark elimination.

Although it is not a procedure for stretch mark removal, abdominoplasty has been around longer than laser treatment and is also used as method for cosmetic surgery. People who want to get a tummy tuck simply want to get rid of a few extra stubborn fats on the tummy that do not respond well to dieting and exercise. The removal of stretch marks is simply an added bonus.

Before the Procedure

Compared to laser treatment, tummy tuck is a more risky procedure. Your surgeon may require you to undergo some extensive preparation. Your doctor will first spend some sessions with you discussing the procedure, risks and more importantly, assessing your validity as a candidate. You may also have to spend some time being medically counseled about your decision to undergo abdominoplasty.

Compared to tummy tuck, laser treatment is less invasive as a procedure and may even be done by your dermatologist.

Who Are Candidates

Tummy tuck candidates should be very close to their ideal weight and only have a little fat to remove in the tummy. They should also be physically and emotionally stable and should have realistic expectations. Sometimes a tummy tuck may not be able to remove all the visible stretch marks. It is also understood that the procedure will leave you with a big external scar.

The best individuals qualified for laser treatment are those whose stretch marks are still new and colored pink or purple. Mature stretch marks may not respond to laser treatment for stretch marks. Some experts also say that there will still be visible streaks but will be less obvious.

Recovery

Laser treatment method will only require you a very minimal time of recovery. The procedure involves little pain and no external scars at all. Abdominiplasty on the other hand is a procedure that may require weeks of recuperation. You may also experience some swelling and pain on the treated area.

Are there Side Effects and Risks?

Compared to abdominaplasty, laser treatment has only very little known side effects. A little temporary reddening of the area may be the only thing you have to endure. In the hands of an incompetent practitioner however, you might suffer from minor tissue injury.

Abdominoplasty offers more side effects and risks for the individual. Aside from the swelling and pain, you are also at risk of infections and irritations. A slip from your surgeon may also result in organ damage.

Cost

Abdominoplasty is more expensive than laser treatment. Costs for laser treatment for stretch marks may range anywhere from $400-$1500 while abdominoplasty costs may range from $5,000-$9,000.

Some General Information and Reviews on Acne

The best acne product is hard to find but there are various center specializing in acne care and treatment in America including the American Dermatology Center, Perfect Skin Laser Center, and the Fayces Skin Care Center. But specifically, the ingredients to avoid for proper acne skin care are isopropyl myristate, isopropyl esters, oleic acid, stearic acid, petrolatum and lanolin.

On adult acne

When adult skin is under siege BOTH from acne AND the side effects of the medications used to treat it, it makes a lot of sense to nurture the skin in every way possible - so long as the agents used don't promote the acne itself. In United States, some of the most popular prescription topical antimicrobials used to treat adult acne include benzoyl peroxide, azelaic acid, erythromycin, clindamycin, and sodium sulfacetamide. Azelaic acid, benzoyl peroxide, clindamycin, erythromycin, and sodium sulfacetamide are the prescription topical antimicrobials used to treat adult acne in the United States.

On acne treatment

With so many adult acne treatments available, you are sure to find one that works for you. Read this before you consider getting a face lift

By: Ken Logan

Due to complications that can arise, face lifts must be studied and understood before being carried out. It would be exceedingly wise to aspire to know as much as possible about surgical procedures on the face (face lift) and all that is involved before going ahead with it.

In the quest for immortality or a semblance of it, people now go as far as removing wrinkles and getting rid of laughter lines to make them appear younger through the intricate process known as face lifting.

For those who desire to 'go under the knife' by doing a face lift, there is little doubt that they will end up deriving a lot of pleasure from the removal of excess skin pigments and fatty cells on their faces so that they can look younger. Myth or magic, how is a face lift carried out? The Internet and various available media provide an immediate source of extra information, not to mention doctors and patients who have had it carried out on them before.

Now don't get too excited as a doctor can still find you unfit for this kind of surgery. Under normal circumstances, anyone below the age of forty or beyond the sixties is not considered safe for such a procedure. Also, one person does not absolutely have to have the same kind of face lift as another person.

Someone could decide that his nose needs to be longer while another thinks that his eyes look too sleepy or facial muscles too saggy, all to vary the type of face lift that the surgeon would carry out on them. When faced with the possibility of coming out looking like a gorilla, I'm sure you will agree with me that understanding the world of face lifts is in order, before going into it.

Before going ahead with a facial, have you asked yourself the vital question of funding? Factors that can affect the price of a face lift include the country in question, the popularity or professionalism of the surgeon to perform the operation, and the last but not least of all is the level of difficulty envisioned.

Having thought it all through, you can now ask yourself if you want to go along with it.

Schools Get a Failing Grade on Skin Cancer Smarts

By Joelle Applebe

Experts agree, American schools are failing on their ability to educate our kids on sun safety and protect them from the dangers of skin cancer.

There have been recent studies indicating that school in the United States are not up to par in protecting our kids from the ultraviolet rays that cause skin cancer. These studies show that schools not only fail to help protect our kids, but they may actually be discouraging the students who try to protect themselves.

A study that was recently conducted at schools across the United States tracked the steps taken to encourage students to take precautions in the sun. Results were poor, indicating that most schools were doing absolutely nothing. A mere three percent of schools had guidelines in place to address sun safety. Of the plans that were in place, some sun-smart schools had arranged outdoor activities during off-peak sunlight hours or provided indoor activities as alternatives on days when the UV index was high.

Students who take part in outdoor activities should be encouraged to wear hats, sleeves and sunscreen between 11 am and 3 pm, the peak sunlight hours. Only a little more than three percent of schools taking part in the research had passing marks in following these protective guidelines.

Here's another frightening statistic: over 66 percent of schools do not allow teachers to apply sunscreen on students, unless the request was accompanied by a doctor's prescription. To make matters worse, fewer than five percent of schools are prepared to provide sunscreen to students who request it. That is simply teaching kids the wrong lesson. Most schools ban hats, in the fear that students will spread head lice by sharing hats. Sunglasses are also banned at most schools. Fewer than 20 percent of outdoor school areas have shaded areas available to allow students a protective escape from the sun.

It looks like it's time to give school principals some lessons in sun safety. At the time of this research study, nearly 70 percent of school principals felt that alerting students about the dangers of UV exposure was a waste of time and resources. Others claim to have had no idea that by spending a lot of time in the direct sunlight on the school playground, students could face an increased risk of skin cancer. On the other hand, a full 84 percent of principals admitted that their students often spent a lot time outdoors during peak sunlight hours.

Our children need and deserve protection. If schools are unable to provide this type of care, they'll need to make some changes. Here are some of the improvements suggested in the report:

* Planting trees provides necessary shade for students, and beautifies the schoolyard.

* Structures should be built to create shaded areas, and wider overhangs should be added to all school buildings. These efforts would offer protection for many students.

* Schools should make every effort to schedule as many outdoor activities as possible before or after peak sunlight hours.

* The use of sunscreen should be considered mandatory for all students, and not just permitted for a select few. No student should need a doctor's note to receive daily sunscreen application.

* Students must be allowed to wear sunglasses and hats while spending time outdoors.

* The health class curriculum should include lessons on skin cancer, to explain the causes, effects and prevention of this potentially deadly disease.

It's not always easy to get kids and teenagers to make the best choices, particularly when the negative effects of their choices seem to come about years, or even decades, later. Even so, these are important lessons to learn, so the classroom is the most sensible place to start. Teachers, principals and parents all share the responsibility and duty to keep our kids safe and well educated.

There are schools failing in their sun smarts, and those teachers and principals must be taught a few lessons, as well. If we fail to teach students about proper sun protection, our kids will suffer in the end.

Womens makeup for the over 40's

Now on to foundations, here the choices are vast. You may have noticed that your skin isn't looking as flawless as you might like. It may be slightly dryer, uneven in colour and the fine lines aren't quite so fine. Fear not, the past couple of years have seen some sensational developments in foundations to address these problems. The new foundation are not only light weight, sheer yet covering but also contain light reflecting properties to make the skin look glowing, dewy and more youthful. It does this by reflecting light away from the lines making them appear less visible. Always test for the right colour on your jaw line, the one that disappears is the right one. After applying foundation you are now ready for concealer. By applying concealer in this way you need less and it looks more natural. Here too, there are amazing newly developed concealers which are sheer, light weight yet covering but best of all won't accentuate those fine lines. The type of texture to look for is one which is creamy yet matte so you needn't use powder under the eyes. If it is too creamy it will settle into the fine lines making them look worse. Yellow toned concealers will hide dark circles without looking ashy. Steer clear of light reflecting concealers down below the eyes - in photos you will have big white patches below your eyes. Leave powder until the end, you may not need any, as it can be ageing. Or you could try one of the many shine absorbing sheets. These get rid of shine without powder. If you are going through the alter you may find a cream to powder foundation works the perfect.

EYES - The browns and neutral colours which looked great in the past may now be making you tired. If this is so I suggest trying some of the beautiful purples, plums and lilacs that are around. Not only do these enhance any eye colour but the incredible formulations will not make your eyes look tired or sore. If this is abit too bold try charcoal or navy instead. Shimmers or Mattes ? Don't think that if you are over a certain get older that you can't wear shimmery shadows it really depends on the condition of your eyes. If the skin is very creepy then shimmery shadows can highlight this, so on this area stick with a more matte shadow. But you could still use a shimmer one just below the arch to the brow and it would look wonderful. Too much matte shadow can make the eyes look dull/drab. Mattes and Shimmers are being mixed to create depth and light to the eye area making them truly stand out. Also opt for a black or blue/black mascara rather than brown no matter what your hair colour. Do not forget the importance of your brows. As with hair, brows too can lose their colour. Brows really should be softly defined.

CHEEKS -When choosing a blush, here too I recommend staying away from ones which are too browny or taupey they tend to make the face appear drainedeally pale pastel shades as they can look chalky. Instead try warm apricots, peach or rosy hues. These really flatter the face. There is also a wide variety of textures to choose from, creams if you a dewy look, cream to powder if you want a more satiny look. Both these textures give a more youthful look.

LIPS - As we get older it is a sad fact that our lips do get thinner and fine lines develop. Luckily help is at hand. To prevent lip colour from feathering and keep it on longer try a lip base. These go on bare lips before lip colour and they really work. To give the illusion of fuller lips without the surgery brush a light reflective concealer around the outside of lips and blend into the lips now line lips with a lip coloured ( nude) lip pencil just slightly outside your own lip line. You should always use a nude lip pencil no matter what your chosen lip colour is , that way as the colour fades (and even the long lasting ones eventually do) you won't be left with that ugly clowns mouth. When choosing a colour here too avoid any drab colours, also if your lip colour is too matte it can look hard / aging. Go for satiny, creamy, moisturizing textures and if you've used a lip base even try some of the fabulous new glosses (they're not as sticky as they used to be).

Anti-Ageing Make-up techniques and products

As we age our body, hair and of course facial appearance changes. So it's isn't out of the ordinary to find that the cosmetics which looked great in our teens, 20's & 30's is now not nearly as flattering as it should be. The time has come to up date and modernize your look. How you apply your make-up and the colours you choose can be just as effective at turning back the clock as some of the expensive get older-defying make-up products. Do not despair, you won't look like some ancient teenager dabbling in the latest trends, there are some fantastic products on the market designed specially for the more mature woman.

SKIN: As we age it is a fact that the tone, texture and elasticity of our skin changes. This is particularly noticeable on our faces with the appearance of wrinkles, an over all dullness to our complexion and a less defined jawline. But all of these can be either corrected or hidden with the aid of Primers! Primers are the first line of defense in our anti-aging battle. If you only choose one new product I would urge you to opt for a primer. These act as neath bases to illuminate, brighten and tighten the skin. They are used under the foundation to smooth, firm and plump up the skin, like a mini face lift and no surgery. Appropriate of all they can be used on their own or neath your favorite existing foundation. A great tip is to mix them with your foundation to give it an anti-aging lift.

Now on to foundations, here the there are many choices. You may have noticed that your skin isn't looking as flawless as you might like. It may be slightly dryer, uneven in colour and the fine lines aren't quite so fine. Fear not, in the past couple of years there really have been some incredible developments in foundations to address these problems. The new foundation are not only light weight, sheer yet covering but also contain light reflecting properties to make the skin look glowing, dewy and more youthful. It does this by reflecting light away from the lines making them appear less visible. Always test for the right colour on your jaw line, the one that disappears is the right one. Don't be tempted to add colour to your face by using foundation. This is the blushers job. Don't trowel foundation on either instead apply with a foundation brush. These give a beautiful no make-up look to the skin.

After applying foundation you are now ready for concealer, this way you need less. Here again there are wonderful ones which are sheer, light reflecting and covering but best of all won't accentuate those fine lines. The type of texture to look for is one which is creamy yet matte so you needn't use powder below the eyes. If it is too creamy / oily it will settle into the fine lines making them look worse. Choose a light reflective one which help soften fine lines. Give your face a lift by dabbing a little concealer on the very outer corner of your eyes. Leave powder until the end by that time your make-up will have settled and you may not even need any, as it can be aging. If you must use it get one that is light reflective.

EYES: Brows - Brows are so very important at any ages but even more so as we get older and are perhaps thinking of maybe wearing less eye make-up. As we get older eyebrows can look sparse and as with hair, brows too can lose their colour. Use a brow powder and an angled brush or a powder brow pencil to softly define your brows. Trim those long ones and tame unruly ones with brow gel.

Eyes - The browns and neutral colours which looked great in the past may now be making you tired. If this is so I suggest trying some of the beautiful deep rich purples, plums and lilacs with a blue / cool neath tone. Not only do these enhance any eye colour but the incredibly improved formulas will makes the whites of your eyes look whiter. If this is abit too bold try charcoal or navy instead. Shimmers or Mattes ? Don't think that if you are over a certain get older that you can't wear soft shimmery shadows it really depends on the condition of your eyes. If the skin is rather crepey then shimmery shadows can highlight this, so on this area stick with a more matte shadow. But you could still use a shimmer one just under the arch to the brow and it would look great. Too much matte shadow can make the eyes look dull/drab - tired and older they are. Mattes and Shimmers can be mixed on the eye to create depth and light to the eye area making them truly stand out. Creme to Powder formulations are great because they are crease resistant and have just the right amount of wearable shimmer. Lining the eyes for definition is a must. Try dipping a liner brush into water then into your favorite eyeshadow. Also opt for a black or blue/black mascara rather than brown no matter what your hair colour.

CHEEKS: Cheeks tend to appear less prominent as we age. To give your face a youthfull glow I suggest choosing a creme to powder blush. These are easy to apply and best of all they are sheer so look so natural. I recommend staying away from ones which are too brownly or taupey they tend to drain the face. Also avoid really pale pastel shades as they can look chalky. Instead try warm apricots, peach or rosy hues. These really flatter the face. You may find that you have to place your blush slightly higher than you used to. Smile then pop a flush of colour on the apples of your cheeks and smooth out towards your ear.

LIPS : As we age it is a sad fact that our lips do get thinner, lose pigment and develop fine lines. Luckily help is at hand. To prevent lip colour from feathering and keep it on longer try a lip base. These go on bare lips before lip colour and they really work. It is a sad fact as we get older our lips become thinner and more lined. To get the look of fuller lips without the surgery brush a light reflective concealer around the outside of lips and blend into the lips now line lips with a lip coloured ( nude) lip pencil just slightly outside your own lip line. Getting To Know Laser Liposuction

By Victoria Rowde

A new technology in fat reduction just got recently approved by the FDA as a method for removing fat in specific areas of the body. It seems that people no longer need to stick to the option of traditional liposuction. There is however, still a lot that we need to know about laser liposuction.

What it is

Laser liposuction is a minimally-invasive fat removal procedure wherein a very small incision is made into which a 1mm cannula is then inserted. The laser tip of the instrument then comes into contact with the fats, heats the fats up and breaks them down. The melted fat can then be removed from the body immediately.

Fats that are not removed can be flushed out by the body through the lymphatic system. Laser intensity is low and can be adjusted as needed. A local anesthetic is all that is needed for laser liposuction.

What It Is For

Like other liposuction procedures, laser liposuction can only work on specific areas of the body. Although some may claim that laser liposuction can work wonders on all parts of your body, it can only really work on limited areas. Only smaller areas like the face, neck and arms can be subjected to this laser treatment.

Just like traditional liposuction, laser liposuction is also simply a body sculpting procedure. It is therefore not a solution for obesity and cannot be used for weight loss. The appropriate candidates for this new technology are people who are fairly healthy and who have only small fat deposits.

Advantages

Since laser liposuction is less invasive compared to other body sculpting procedures, the patient will only experience very minimal swelling, bruising, scarring, tissue damage and pain. The incision is said to be so small that a patient no longer needs to be stitched up. This means that the rate of recovery is faster. Patients can get back on their feet in a day or two.

Aside from melting fat, laser liposuction also promotes collagen production and tightens the skin. This is a great improvement compared to traditional liposuction. In traditional liposuction, some patients end up looking worse because of a lack of ideal skin elasticity. Some doctors may use laser liposuction after sessions of traditional liposuction to help tighten the skin.

Disadvantages

Laser liposuction is only good for specific parts of the body. Traditional liposuction may still be needed for wider body areas such as the hips and thighs. It is also still a very young piece of technology. Experts agree that more studies need to be conducted to determine the possible negative side effects of this procedure.

Retaining more fat fluid is also a more serious concern that should be given more attention by those who undergo laser liposuction. Of course, the FDA would not approve something that could be potentially dangerous. It is a fact though that the full long term side effects of the procedure cannot be determined yet until it has been in use for quite some time. Be on the safe side by asking your doctor to extensively discuss the procedure with you.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT HAIR COLOR

By HAIRCOLORER

Choosing the Right Hair Color Dye The decision between a cool versus a warm hair color lies at the heart of a successful dye job. You must know your own basic color "temperature" in order to select a new color that will harmonize with your features. It is not unusual for a woman to visit an aesthetician to have her colors analyzed before a hair change but if you cannot or don't want to go to that length, you can ask yourself some basic questions about your skin type, eye color, and existing hair color that will guide you in your decision. Fortunately if you go the "do it yourself" route most companies that make hair dye kits will also have a chart of dye colors on display with their products that is divided into cool and warm shades.

People who are "cool" should stay away from yellow, gold, bronze and red tones. These shades will give the skin a sallow texture and make the features look drawn. Blacks, ash browns, and blonde shades from platinum to near white work best. If "cool" people are indeed "cool" and daring, their natural coloration will work with different hair colors like lipstick red, purple orchid hues, and burgundy. (It's probably best to go with the more temporary dye methods if you experiment with unnatural colors.) Naturally warm people should avoid the wild hair colors of the trendier looks. No blues, violets, of jet black Goth dyes for these folks unless your desire is to look washed out and corpse-like. Deep rich browns, red hair colors from auburn to simple gold highlights, and golden blondes work very well for "warm" folk.

Great Information And Tips When Buying a Stretch Mark Lotion

I found this great article about the tips you need to know when Buying a Stretch Mark Lotion. I hope you enjoy this article

Best Four Tips When Buying a Stretch Mark Lotion
By: Maia Pells

You may be suffering from the psychological impact of stretch marks but wouldn't want to risk going through surgery or using an untested product. If this is the case, then its time you found a good stretch mark lotion.

Get The Natural Product

Natural solutions are, most often than not, always the best. This is because natural ingredients rarely ever result in side effects and is therefore generally safe to use. Since stretch marks are the particular problem of pregnant women, a natural stretch mark lotion is a logical choice since chemical options may end up harming the unborn child. To be safe though, always ask your doctor about a natural product first before using it on your belly. Once a stretch mark lotion is cleared for use, apply it as soon as possible to prevent stretch marks but only as indicated.

Get A Good Brand

Stretch mark lotions are available anywhere and most people would probably get theirs in brick and mortar stores. However, you should not discount the power of the internet to assist you in your search for the best stretch mark lotion. You can easily research on the most reputable brands by logging on to independent reviewers, asking around in forums and checking product sites. Online shopping for your stretch mark lotion will give you a lot of time to conveniently determine the best, safest and most reliable product.

What's In The Product?

Sadly though, there are also some manufacturers who are simply out there to catch a quick buck. Make sure you spend some time online researching about natural ingredients that really do help treat stretch marks. Look for these ingredients in product sites and check if the sites have good explanations of how their ingredients work. Some of the ingredients that work best in a stretch mark lotion include the following:

1. The Vitamin E must be a constant ingredient for all stretch mark solutions. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that not only fights harmful free radicals but also helps with skin regeneration by stimulating the development of new skin cells.

2. Vitamin A must also be another ingredient that skin care products must not do without. Vitamin A does not only help regenerate the skin but it also provides UV protection

3. Aside for hair products, Aloe vera can also aid in the healing of wounds. Since stretch marks are scars that result from the tearing of dermal tissues, aloe vera can be a helpful component in a stretch mark lotion.

4. Grapefruit seed extract is another important stretch mark lotion component that helps promote collagen and elastin healing. These two are particularly needed to maintain skin elasticity which is necessary to limit skin tearing.

5. Another important antioxidant that promote skin regeneration is the Squalene oil. This ingredient can also naturally keep your skin soft.

Try a Solution for a Couple of Weeks

Even a very good stretch mark lotion may not be able to work out a miracle in a short span of time. Since stretch marks are scars, it may take some time before a solution works. Use a carefully chosen natural product for a couple of weeks before giving it up. The results may only be obvious after some time of consistent and regular use of a good product.

Women So You Think You Need A Facelift ?

So You Think You Need A Facelift
Submitted By: Cynthia Rowland

Looked in the mirror only to hypercritically proclaim: "I need a facelift!"? If so, you are not alone. Every person over the age of 40 has begun to see subtle shifting in their facial appearance. Out of nowhere lines and folds have begun their development and all of a sudden, the once tight, sculpted chin has slackened leaving you feeling pretty glum knowing that you are beginning to look older than you ever thought possible.

You also know that if you aren't somehow, someway proactive, this aging is not going to correct itself.

There are only a few methods that will return the look of youthfulness to your face; some are natural, some are painful and expensive and some are just ludicrous gimmicks that deplete you of funds and subject you to great risk and bodily harm.

Which one would you choose?

The most talked about anti-aging remedies are terribly risky and dangerous because long term results have not been determined or documented. This includes injections and surgery.

Injections of foreign substances and cadaver material will definitely change your appearance; lips become misshapen and if the injections are used in the face, the face looks plasticized and unnatural. In order to maintain the results, further injections are required to be repeated over and over again. Just how many substances can the body endure? No one knows.

Surgery is very risky as well – surgery is a crap shoot because no one can guarantee the results of a procedure. Not only are there scars that produce loss of sensation and feeling in the excised area, there is always a risk of infection and disappointment because the face is forever distorted by surgery. Further aging is accentuated because the muscles and skin are now draped unnaturally; the face loudly shouts that your surgical face lift needs refreshing.

One interesting item in the marketplace is the hand-held, battery powered, electro-stimulation device that shoots electrical micro-currents into the face. These devices can create a slight contraction of the muscle which may affect the skin very temporarily after four to six weeks of use; usually the user needs to continually treat the area each day to create and then maintain the results. There are cautions that need to be heeded using these devices. Over-use is a common side effect that can cause permanent damage such as involuntary muscle twitching which is not attractive and can be very disturbing to witness. An annoying stinging sensation is another by-product of superficial stimulation to the epidermal layer. Without resistance, the results are very temporary.

Another consideration beyond price and risk regarding injections and surgeries are the qualifications of the person executing the procedure. Is this person a physician? Is this person a dentist or a gynecologist performing plastic surgery? What's a girl to do?

Use a zero risk, no side-effect solution. It's true; a proven technique does exist that can correct aging, sagging faces. This solution is fast, safe and totally amazing.

Highly specialized facial exercises can easily restore your face to its former youthfulness. These exercises are easy to learn and easy to perform. They do not cause wrinkles as some physicians would like you to believe, rather, these exercises lift your face so dramatically, the results rival a magic wand.

In hardly any time at all eyelids lift and fine lines and wrinkles smooth. Your cheeks become prominent as your jaw sculpts and firms. From day one of this type of facial retraining muscles and skin respond to increased oxygenation caused by contraction and resistance exercises. The muscles begin to plump up, shorten and lift. Your skin responds by following the new, youthful positioning of the facial muscles. In just weeks your face looks revitalized and younger.

Keep in mind you can safely alter the shape and contour of your face and neck without an invasive, expensive, painful or risky procedure. These dire consequences are totally unnecessary if beauty and youthfulness are your desire.

Imagine yourself looking as young as you feel and you made it happen using only your thumbs and fingertips.

Liposuction Risks And Benefits Information

This great article talk about the liposuction risks and benefits information. This help you to choose if this surgical cosmetic procedure if for you.

Liposuction: Risks And Benefits

Liposuction surgery is the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery in the United States. More than a quarter of a million liposuctions were performed last year. It can be an effective means of removing excess body fat in healthy people, but cosmetic surgeons caution that liposuction should not be used as an alternative to diet and exercise.

The surgery consists of removing pockets of fat beneath the skin’s surface by inserting a hollow steel tube, called a cannula, into the affected area. Fat is then removed from the body by attaching a powerful vacuum to the cannula, which allows the cosmetic surgeon to work with localized areas. Heavy IV sedation, local anesthetics, or general anesthetics may be used on the patient during the surgery. Both patient and physician should carefully consider risks and benefits that come with any of these methods.

Choices, options and results can vary widely in this field. Doctors should make sure those who are overweight understand that liposuction is not “magic”. Liposuction is usually very effective in shaping the body in fat-prone areas such as the buttocks, hips, abdomen, chin, cheeks, neck and arms. According the American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS), liposuction is most effective on, “Normal-weight people with firm, elastic skin who have pockets of excess fat in certain areas.” Those who are more overweight may not achieve the results they wished for. A reputable cosmetic surgeon will discuss all options and outline potential risks.

Effectiveness, cost, and risk are crucial factors that the patient should consider; these are referred to collectively as “surgical judgment” by the AAPS. Surgical judgment is developed through years of training and experience; patients should consider the training and experience of a particular doctor when choosing a surgeon. Membership in the American Board of Plastic Surgeons, a degree from an accredited medical school, and at least five additional years of residency are examples of indicators of good surgical judgment,

Liposuction surgeries can be performed in a variety of settings. Some are performed in hospitals, in the surgeon’s office, and others in an outpatient surgery center. For reasons of cost and convenience, many smaller liposuction surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis. In the case of a larger liposuction surgery and surgeries that include other procedures, the surgery will be performed in a hospital, and may require a day or so of hospital stay for observation and recovery.

As with any type of surgical procedure, there are risks involved. Although liposuction is considered one of the safest cosmetic surgeries, patients should be aware of the dangers. Some risk factors include scarring, adverse drug reactions or overdose from the lidocaine used in the procedure, shock, infections, nerve damage, bleeding and blood clots, and asymmetry (uneven removal of fat deposits). Those with a history of heart disease, diabetes, high blood-pressure, allergies and smoking should discuss their medical history thoroughly with the cosmetic surgeon to determine their risk of complications with this surgery.
